Location Our accommodations are located in a side valley at the upper end of Gastein Valley, with the pristine natural landscapes of Hohe Tauern National Park just beyond. The Forsthaus is barely a 10-minute drive from Bad Gastein, where you will find several shopping opportunities, the Stubnerkogel lifts, along with a number of pleasant bars and restaurants. Description Serving until 2012 as a house for foresters and gamekeepers in Kötschachtal, today’s Forsthaus now features two holiday apartments for up to 9 nature lovers. Painstakingly furnished to incorporate various elements of nature, the proximity to two waterfalls as well as the chance to observe chamois and deer first thing in the morning, promises a very special holiday experience here in Gastein Valley. The bigger of the two apartments, the “Malerwinkel”, accommodates up to six people. It consists of two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen with dinette, a bathroom with shower and WC as well as an entrance hall with coat rack. Apartment “Nationalpark” is designed for up to three people. Divided into two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom with WC and an entrance hall with coat rack, this holiday apartment is probably ideal for a family with 1 to 2 children. Both of the apartments are fully equipped with a dishwasher, Tassimo coffeemaker as well as a drip coffee machine, refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster and electric water jug. Each of the apartments also boasts two flatscreen televisions as well as Wi-Fi. Gastein in Winter All four of the ski areas in Gastein Valley are worth a visit, just a few minutes away by car or ski bus. You are guaranteed virtually ideal snow conditions in Sportgastein, which is the highest non-glacier ski area in the province. Enjoy the crystal-clear air as you go sledding, take a stroll along the Erzherzog Johann Promenade in Bad Gastein, or perhaps show off your ice-skating skills.
